Dr. Sihua Hou received his B.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) in Organic Chemistry from Lanzhou University under the supervision of Prof. Yong-Qiang Tu. Following postdoctoral studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University working with Prof. Shu-Yu Zhang and at The University of Chicago with Prof. Guangbin Dong, he began his independent career at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a Tenure-track Associate Professor (Ph.D. advisor) in 2021. He has completed the total synthesis of more than 20 bioactive natural products and published over 20 research papers on J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. etc. He received the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas) in 2021.

His research mainly focuses on: 1. asymmetric synthesis of bioactive natural products; 2. scale synthesis of natural medication molecules; 3. target molecule-oriented novel and efficient synthesis methodology research; 4. development of novel anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory drug candidates.
